Case study · E-commerce
How a London coffee roastery got an online shop as crafted as its coffee.
The client
A wholesale coffee company with a new UK roastery.
Heimdall Coffee Company started in wholesale coffee and launched its own roastery for the UK market. It sells specialty coffee, brewing equipment, cold brew, coffee pods and gift sets, plus subscriptions and wholesale for cafés and offices.
The challenge
A new roastery that needed a brand and a shop.
For the UK launch, Heimdall needed a new website and complete branding, and a way to market the roastery online.
The shop had to carry as much character as the coffee, and make choosing, buying and subscribing easy for people new to the brand. Heimdall found SEOGorillas on Clutch and chose it for its ratings, culture fit and value.
What we did
A brand and a WooCommerce shop.
Over three months, a small team built the brand and the shop, and set up the roastery’s marketing online.
- Branding. A complete brand for the roastery’s UK launch.
- Shop. Coffee, equipment, cold brew, pods and gift sets, organised so buyers find what they want fast.
- Subscriptions. Recurring coffee subscriptions alongside one-off orders.
- Discovery. A coffee quiz, brew guides and a World of Coffee section to help buyers choose.
- Wholesale. A dedicated wholesale page for cafés and offices.
- Marketing. An online marketing presence set up for the launch.
How we worked
Better ideas where the client wasn’t sure.
Work ran through video meetings and messaging. Where Heimdall was less familiar with the options, the team suggested better alternatives and adapted the build to how the coffee trade works.
The director singled out the niche design elements and modules that set the brand apart from competitors.
“They offered us better alternatives in areas we weren’t familiar with.”
The results
What launched.
The director said the result was better than they had hoped for, and Heimdall continued with SEOGorillas for ongoing online marketing.
They did an outstanding job.
What’s next
From launch to growth.
After the launch, Heimdall kept working with SEOGorillas on its online marketing.
Lessons for your business
What other coffee and food brands can take from this.
- Give buyers more than one way in. One-off orders, subscriptions and wholesale each serve a different customer.
- Help people choose. A quiz and brew guides turn “which coffee?” into a purchase.
- Let the brand show in the shop. Distinct design details are what make a small roastery memorable next to big names.
