The client
A new PPE manufacturer, launched in 2020.
Shield Guard makes personal protective equipment. It started in early 2020 with a team of 11 to 50 people, a logo and some marketing materials, and no website.
The challenge
A brand-new company with no website.
Shield Guard wanted a site that was easy to follow, landing pages for its products, and a way for customers to order and pay online.
There were no brand guidelines to work from, so every word, photo and video on the site had to be created from the logo and the materials the team already had. And because customers would be ordering directly, checkout, inventory and order tracking had to work from day one.
What we did
Design, build and growth, start to finish.
We took the website from first sketch to hosting, then stayed on to grow it.
- Website. Design, development and hosting, built from Shield Guard’s high-level ideas into a site that is easy to follow.
- Landing pages. Product pages with written, visual and video content created from the existing logo and marketing materials.
- Online store. Checkout so customers order and pay on the site.
- Order and inventory tracking. Orders and stock tracked in the same system, so the team doesn’t re-enter anything.
- SEO. Ongoing search work to bring more visitors to the store.
- Social media. Facebook, Instagram and Twitter campaigns that link back to the site.
How we worked
Weekly calls during the build, a lighter rhythm after.
The project started with Zoom meetings and email, then moved to weekly and sometimes daily status calls while the site was being built, with documents kept in a shared workspace. Shield Guard worked with three regular contacts, including a project manager and a content writer.
Once the site was live and the work moved to ongoing management, check-ins dropped to a call every few weeks.
“There is always someone available to take my calls and texts.”
The results
Numbers that moved.
Shield Guard chose not to share detailed figures. In its Clutch interview, the VP of Sales said business grew 50–60% and that customer feedback on the site was very positive.
Seo Gorillas is flexible, accommodating, and professional — they’re very easy to do business with.
What’s next
Still working together.
The partnership that started in March 2020 is ongoing, with SEO and social media bringing new visitors to the store.
Lessons for your business
What other manufacturers can take from this.
- Start with what you have. No brand guide is not a blocker. A logo and a few marketing pieces are enough to build a consistent site.
- Let customers buy without a phone call. Online ordering and payment remove a step between interest and a sale.
- Connect the back office. When orders and inventory live in the same system as the store, nobody types an order twice.
